The history of Hudson Bend Ranch

Hudson Bend Ranch began its journey in 1999 when Steven Ray purchased a five-acre plot of land and meticulously shaped every inch to match his vision. Over the course of 25 years, Steven personally designed each structure and landscaped every outdoor space.

In 2015, he OPENED the ranch for events, vacation rentals, and weddings, creating a space where countless memories HAVE BEEN made. A devoted environmentalist, Steven cherished every creature on the ranch, from frogs and butterflies to deer and bees. A true Texan, born and raised on a ranch in North Texas, he carried his love for the outdoors and horses into Hudson Bend Ranch’s early days.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Steven in January 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind not only a remarkable legacy but also his beloved ranch, now entrusted to his daughters, Emily and Becca.

As we step into this new chapter, we carry Steven’s spirit with us, honoring the past while embracing the future.

  • Yes, we love pets and they’re even welcome to be part of your wedding! We also have a large dog park with dog houses, shelter, and water.

  • We can accommodate up to 40 cars on-site. If you expect more, we encourage carpooling or ridesharing. uber and lyft are both easily available to and from the ranch.

  • Both the Laurel and Juniper packages include two nights of lodging for up to 20 guests in Casadecas and Sunrise Casita. Additional lodging can be added à la carte for up to 24 guests total.

    we offer two airstream trailers that are available to add on to your booking. each airstream accommodates 2 people. refer to the lodging section of this website for more information.

    There are also many Airbnbs, hotels, and other lodging options within a 10-minute drive of the ranch—feel free to ask us for recommendations!

  • Sound levels, measured 50 feet from the source shall not exceed 85 db up to 10:30 pm.  Sound levels, measured 50 feet from the source, shall not exceed 70 db from 10:30 pm till midnight.  All music must stop at midnight. 

    Generally speaking, this means all DJs and amplified sound must end by 10:30 pm.‍ ‍After that time, you may continue with a small portable Bluetooth speaker only.

  • Yes, all decorations must be pre-approved.

    No adhesives, nails, tacks, staples, or stickers are allowed without prior approval.

    candles and other live flames require fire approval. approval will not be given during a burn ban.

    fireworks and confetti are not permitted.

  • We welcome those with disabilities. We have tried to make the Venue handicap accessible. However, please understand that our venue consists of historic structures. It’s impossible to make all of the structures wheelchair accessible without damaging their historic integrity. If you know that guests with disabilities will attend your Event, please let us know so that we may do our best to accommodate them.
